The way I see it, from living years in a country that has universal health care, is that it's a great service to the people, it works, it brings prices down and increases dramatically quality of living.

Our current system of private health care doesn't work. We pay more and more, for less and less. The private health care infrastructure is already in place and can be modified to a public system.

I find it odd you don't see something glaringly obvious. Insurance companies lobbied for auto insurance to be mandatory, now it is. Prices are much lower and we get more for our money. When we have an accident we don't have to worry if the insurance company will do as they say, they do. We need the same kind of mentality with health insurance don't you think? Whether it be public or private, things need to change, and the public system is one I know works, and works well.

Instead of seeing why it can't work, or shouldn't work, think about why we it can work and how it should work.
