Not to get in a pissing match, but Sean would have been 16 5 years ago, that would be before he worked with Cobra. The issue came to light, and onto the FBI's radar, about 2 years ago. As I mentioned before, it does sometimes take 3-5 years for these things to come together and be acted on.
Right. And I'm sure that will be dealt with in time. If I were the Justice Dept., I'd want to make sure the 6th circuit issue is resolved before bringing an indictment.Actually Chip the example I was thinking of is the one you alluded to the producer who had no records before 2005. Cobra is not the only one you know.
Yes, that's the point. And yes I was being Facetious I take federal Law very seriously, I was just pointing out that if Hyde Park jilted a model and hired him illegally does this not call their adherence to the law into question? Or their ethics?
I don't know who "many" is, but I have heard quite a few industry people express deep concern. Unfortunately, though, since he is in the UK, the process of actually enforcing compliance (and the investigation necessary to evaluate compliance) is challenging for a variety of reasons. The same for Rufus Ffoulkes a career criminal with 58 convictions for Frauds of multiple description and yet many are convinced only one of his films are suspect (for underage porn) Why?
There are definitely some very serious flaws in 2257, the most egregious of which is that there's absolutely nothing in the law to fix the date when the content is produced (other than the producer's word) and therefore no way to assure that an unscrupulous producer doesn't shoot 16 or 17 year olds and hold the content for a year or two, then postdating the production date. If and when the 6th Circuit decision is upheld, perhaps someone with some common sense will construct a simpler, better law that serves its intended purpose (keeping children away from the adult industry, and ensuring that child pornographers are caught and punished) and enforcement, as well as recordkeeping, will be a simpler process.
Until then, we have to work with what we have.
