African Americans represent about 6% of the total electorate in California. While they may have voted against same sex marriage disproportionally, they are not the reason we lost. In terms of pure numbers of votes we lost because of white over 65 and inland county white voters.

While I too am not happy about AA’s voting 70% against same sex marriage, I don’t want to see them get blamed for our lose.

I received a robo-call saying that Barack Obama did not support gay marriage and there was a snippet of his voice saying he did not support gay marriage. Guess who paid for the robo-calls…the Mormons!

The Mormons used Barack’s own words against us and gave many AA a reason to justify their votes. Many AA were simply voting with their leader...Barack Obama.

Remember we couldn't even get Hillary to publicly say she supported gay marriage. If we can’t even get Hillary to support us then how do we expect to get AA’s on our side?
