I have since read up on the term and its use.
Seems it was at one time much more derogatory, even an insult from one gay man to another. Now it appears to be used almost as a term of endearment.

I'm also seeing the occasional paysite with "breeding" or "breeders" in the URL, hence the reason why I asked originally.
