Who wants to mix politics and porn together anyway? All you've done is cut your income? Where's the sense in that? If politics is your bag then make a donation, volunteer for a party. But don't mix it with business. That's just stupid.

If the political climate got any worse than it was the day before yesterday then you would be in serious danger of losing your business and who know, perhaps even being thrown in jail. You have a chance to speak to a large number of people who might not vote unless they realize their precious porn could be taken away from them. People will go to great lengths to get themselves off and if voting for the candidates and/or parties who will allow freedom of speech to reign free and therefore allow all of us to stay in business, then why not try to enlist their help. If TropixxxStudios lost a chunk of change but got a good number of people to vote for the right candidates, then he did us all a huge favor with quite a personal sacrifice. I would hardly call that stupid.

If you were trapped in a burning building and a guy sacrificed himself by running headfirst into the fire to open a door so you could escape unharmed would you call him stupid?

Porn IS politics! The personal IS political! Anyone who doesn't realize this by now is just egg-headed and stubborn, not to mention in major denial.

Porn is produced legally in this country ONLY because the First Amendment protects our desire to produce it.

We are being ruled under an administration that has vowed to wipe out all traces of "indecency" from the planet, and for anyone not to understand that creating and distributing adult content in such a scenario is nothing if not an act of political rebellion... well, it just blows my mind that anyone could be in such denial of the importance of such a thing.

Yes, I understand that people use porn mostly as a means to rub one out and go about their days, but that's not to say that porn cannot be used as a vehicle to other means. Again, it's all in how the producer views it.

My next porn site will tell people what to and what not to eat, drink and listen to. As well, I will provide them with a list of laws to break (those I think are archaic); where to place their faith (devnull); who gets to drive an SUV; what kind of car the others get to drive; movies to ignore and those they should see...

Basically, I will use it as my way of distributing my thoughts, and those that retain a subscription have no input, but are welcome to use the door!

Oh Paco, you're just being silly. It's not like Tropixxx is trying to tell his members how to think. It's just a matter of saying that in order to protect your right to view the material on this site and any porn site, you need to go vote and vote for the candidates who want to preserver your right to view this material. It's sad but true that we are fighting for our very rights to keep our businesses alive. I didn't think there was anything wrong in asking your members to help. I also think it's up to every webmaster to decide if that is something they want to do and not feel pressure to do it if they don't want to. To each his own, right?

Well, I still disagree. It is my site, and I will say what I want to. If I can sway one vote, all the better. If I can get all the hypocritical, gay-bashing, self loathing, closeted "I'm not gay...I'm straight" gays to quit my site and spend their money elsewhere...all the better.

The simple fact is this: If we do not speak up...then we risk losing everything. Yes, we have elected a Democratic house and Senate..but from what I can see, they are centralists. Which is almost, but not quite, as bad as Right Wing. We probably have as much to fear from THESE democrats as we do from THOSE republicans.

My site is 99.9% extreme punishment and discipline. Maybe .1% political statements (made by the way in my blog forum). They have a choice to read it, or skip it using the main navigation to go jack off.

Ironically, although I lost a few members, the overwhelming majority of my site members have praised my actions in the member forum area.

LASTLY, I have said it before, and I will say it again. By letting my members know where I stand politically, I give them an opportunity to either support me (and therefore my causes) financially...or to quit. I canceled one of my memberships to one of my favorite sites this past October after meeting the owner at the Phoenix Forum and decided he was a flaming right wing asshole. It shocked me that there was a gay man helping to destroy what little civil liberties we have by giving money to the RNC (and thus to Santorum, Musgrave, et. all.) Et tu?

I make a decent living off of my site. I can miss out on a few hundred dollars of recurring fees if it means I can sleep better at night...which I can now.

I disagree. It really is up to each webmaster to define his or her own business. Each of you make the choice to create the business model that you want, and you make the choice whether or not to include certain types of content on your sites.

The end-user's reaction to what you include is simply that: their reaction.

As others have pointed out, if a webmaster is OK with the consequences of including certain types of content, then there's no reason he or she should not feel free to post it.

Your businesses are just that: YOUR businesses. You make the choice whether or not to be enslaved by your end-users' whims.

It's ALWAYS up to you. It's ALWAYS in how you see it. That's what freedom of choice, freedom of will and personal responsiblity are all about. You have the power. How much of that power you choose to give to your end-users is ultimately YOUR choice.

So, yes, it's really all in how the webmaster views it.

He was simply offering his views to the members of his site, and yes, using his site as a distribution tool. But it's not like he said, "You MUST think this way" As I said, there is nothing different about that than the Dixie Chicks saying what they said at their concert. Is was their RIGHT to do so, just as it was Tropix's RIGHT to do so as well.

Regardless of which political agenda he was promoting, I would stand by my opinion on this matter. If I start a website, I have the right to say what I want on it. That's what Freedom of Speech is all about.

Also, by this token, shouldn't we also stop publishing op-eds in newspapers and Rolling Stone? Perhaps we should also eliminate all political commentary from TV news programs? And Bill Maher should definitely be shot or maimed for having the gumption to spout political rhetoric on his show Real Time.

We all "push our views on people" every day, in many ways. This very board, for instance, is a medium through which people "push their views" on each other.

Whether you think that sex and politics mix is your opinion. I maintain that porn sites are the perfect vehicle through which to encourage people to be politically active. Difference of opinion. But the law says each of us have the right to decide for ourselves what we want to include on our sites. There's really no room for disagreement there.

It's called having respect for others, mainly your paying customers. This seems disrespectful that he is forcing his views on people. Mainly when he forces his views on people but then he isn't receptive to accept other people that have a different view then his, wow that's progression!

Not everyone that is gay is a democrat and you need to accept and respect other peoples views and not shove your views upon them. Just as you wouldn't want the opposing teams views shoved upon you.

It's called being respectful, we should have learned that in elementary school. Politics is a personal thing anyway, it's rude to even ask people who they voted for or what their political views are. But I guess that has been lost over the years, I even know that and I am only 29.

You don't discuss politics or religion for this exact reason.
