I may be optimistic but I'm also a pretty good businessperson. There's a big difference between encouraging someone/offering suggestions on one hand and making a significant investment on the other.

I'm not ready to go into business with Sam, but I'm willing to believe that he wants to do the right thing and I'd like to give him a little encouragement to do that.
